Photovoltaic cells are increasingly more affordable as demonstrated by the student competition. Coupled with passive solar stratagies it is almost feasible for american housing to opperate independantly from the power grid. Deep cycle 12 volt DC batteries with seasonal storage capacities are now the weak link in the chain for housing deploying photovoltaic power generation.
I applaud the students at CU and praise their vision and dedicated hard work. We are closer to the dream than ever before because you proved it could be done. BRAVO! _________________ Terry L. Walker, AIA
