Does anyone know about Parsons architecture program?

I have a BA in Architecture from Rice University and was looking for a good MArch program. I have heard a variety of comments, mostly negative, but some were based solely on the lack of name recognition.

The new Dean, the design-build program, NYC, and the fact that you would be immersed in an environment that can easily connect with other designers (aka designers in Parsons prized fashion design program) make it appealing.

I am sure it costs an arm and a leg. I can't seem to find that on their site, but I am hoping that they give out most of their money to grad students, like Rice does.

Any info?

its considered a good program.....one of the best "artsy" programs out there, also has great location, facilities arent as great. I think the dean at parsons has a brother who is a dean at princeton or something like that. Although that doesnt make it a better school or anything, yet it does have a great reputation.

I am confused. What differentiates an "artsy" program from another program. Are there programs out there tha squash creativity when they see it? I am being slightly sarcastic because I think that "artsy" is a bad term to describe architecture schools. I know that some schools might foster a student going out on the limb more, but you can always rebel against the conservative norms of a school as long as you have a good project to back it up. I also think that almost every architecture school I have been to and student I have talked to has made me come to the conclusion that very few teach you practical knowledge that you use in the workplace. So all the schools are artsy!

Anyway, do you know anything about Parsons facilities. I went to a good school with crap facilities, and I don't really want that to be my first choice. I would rather go to a good school with good facilities.
