I have this very cool book called "Building with Light" and it's about the history of architectural photography. Even though our compositional skills have improved dramatically over the decades what truly sets photography apart as an art form is it's ability to record time that history can then view.
Of course that was then, now that everything is so incredibly manipulated by photoshop I wonder how architectural photography will be viewed 50 years down the road. Will we be able to see an image of a building in it's historical time or will we just see it as a really good illustration with our underlying psyche telling us it's not real?
One of the last images in the book is a computer illustration(photo quality) of what one of Louis Kahn's buildings would look like. Of course it was never built because of funding. _________________ ----------------
